In August 2007, the debut CD, “What They Didn’t Teach Us In School” received immediate attention. Then “Take A Second Look”, in 2008, garnered critical acclaim from audiences, music educators and music industry agencies. Now, “Rounding 3rd” RNRC’s latest release is testing the boundaries of what can be accomplished on stage through the power of the human voice! The RockNRoll Chorus maintains a powerhouse cast of some of the best high school singers from all over New Jersey and beyond. The group comes together to learn about the music business, recording, touring, performance skills and entertainment production all through the vehicle of high quality rock and pop music – music they would not ordinarily be able to experience in their high school music programs. Emphasis is placed on high production values, music business etiquette, music theory, ear training, vocal breathing skills, excellent forward placement, musicianship skills, healthy body maintenance, time management and interpersonal communication skills. The goal of the music is to create performances that resemble the original recordings of some of the most important hits of the past several decades. Once the competitive audition is complete, these young adults, instead of going away to ‘summer camp,’ go into intense rehearsals, record at the professional level, prepare a promotional campaign, shoot video and go on tour. It is a fantastic blend of professional and educational experiences that, according to these amazing young adults, have created valuable relationships and friendships that will last a lifetime!
